Welcome to the web-site of the Green Beret (RM Commando) Association, based in Deal, in East Kent,United Kingdom Our aims are to foster and maintain the Commando Spirit and Fellowship in civilian life, and to bring together in comradeship all serving and Ex-Members of the Commando Brigade. The association welcomes applications for membership from both serving and former members of the Commando Brigade, an application form is available on-line (apply now). Members meet regularly at various venues and a number of activities are programmed throughout the year. The spirit of fellowship is alive and well amongst our members and we pride ourselves on making all visitors to the association feel welcome in true old "pussers" fashion. We currently meet at the Royal British Legion (Downs Branch) in Deal, both socially and for committee meetings etc. The committee are currently considering organising a trip to the Menin Gate at Ypres (watch this space for details) and the association will be holding it's first annual dinner and dance for a number of years, on the 15th July 2006, places are still available should you wish to attend, please contact the secretary. If you're an ex-Royal, or were attached to the Commando Brigade, and you share our vision and values, and would like to keep in touch with your old comrades as well as helping to promote the commando spirit (not to mention having a ball and the odd run-ashore doing so) - please think about joining us. Associate membership is also available for wives, widows and family and friends, please apply on-line. Please be aware that this site is still very much under construction, our desire to have a presence on the world wide web has meant that we felt it appropriate to go live as soon as sufficient material became available, we will be up-dating and adding to the site regularly so please bear that in mind and bookmark us |
